American Youth Football and Cheer has partnered with leading coaching education provider American Sport Education Program (ASEP) to develop and deliver coaching education courses for youth football and cheer coaches. These courses are aimed at improving coaching and fostering a positive sport experience for participants at the youth level.
If you are a coach who is new to AYF or AYC this year and need to become certified for the first time, take the introductory Coaching Youth course for the sport you coach. Due to today’s safety concerns for our AYF youth, all AYF football and cheer coaches are strongly advised to complete the online course for the sport they coach. The course includes $2 million extra liability coverage—this is twice the amount offered by our competition! All tournament team coaches should be aware that a course completion certificate will be one of the items on the registration checklist for the AYF National Championships.

Coaching Youth Cheerleading: The AYC Way
Coaches pass the course by achieving a score of 80% or better. Those who successfully complete the course can print a certificate of course completion from the website.
Certification is valid for one year from the date of course completion. Coaches need to recertify each year to continue the liability coverage. The new 2013 recertification course, "AYF/AYC Recertification Course: Safety and Health," will be available July 1, 2013. If you have already taken the introductory course and are now looking to recertify to extend the insurance coverage, DO NOT take the introductory course over again. Instead, wait to take the recertification course when it is available July 1.
